Software Requirements

It is essential that students have ready access to a computer that meets the minimum hardware requirements, and that has the following software installed:

  • Windows XP (SP2)
  • Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox 2
  • Java 1.4.2
  • Microsoft Office 2003 or similar§

  • Mac OS X 10.4.3

  • Microsoft Office 2004 or similar§
  • Linux kernel 2.4 such as Ubuntu and RedHat distributions
  • OpenOffice.org 2§

* Cornerstone University is a Windows PC-based school, therefore we are not able to actively support MacIntosh or Linux based computers.

§ Assignments must be completed in Microsoft Office 97/2003 compatible file format. If you are able to save and open Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files (doc, xls, ppt) you should be able to participate in coursework. OpenOffice.org is a free office suite that is capable of saving and viewing these file types.
